Mr Glen Tan, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations for Middle East and North Africa, Nielsen, will be speaking at UOWD as part of the newly introduced UOWD Business Analytics series. As one of the world's leading global information and measurment organisations which enables companies to understand consumer and consumer behaviour, Neilsen has a presence in over 100 countries worldwide.
Glen Tan will be sharing his views with UOWD students about the following:

Glen Tan is the SVP & Chief Operations for Middle East North Africa & Pakistan for The Nielsen Company based in Dubai.
He has the benefit of 20 years of experience working in multiple geographies, industries & roles. These geographies include the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, India & currently the UAE. Industries range from Aircraft Engines, Power Generation, Computing & Electronics Manufacturing to Market Research. Some of the companies he was associated with were General Electric (GE), Dell & Flextronics. The roles span Business Turnaround & Six Sigma; Finance; General Management (Rev: $350M/Yr. & People: 1,600) & Commercial Engagements. This has provided him with a deeper appreciation of leading & managing multi-cultural environments & business models.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree under the Economic Development Board of Singapore Scholarship. He is also a graduate of 2 leadership programs in GE: Six Sigma Leadership & Corporate Audit Staff. During his military stint in the Singapore Armed Forces, he was an Intelligence Officer in the Artillery. He was also a volunteer mentor to an ex-drug offender; church Sunday school teacher & chairman of Nielsen Cares Asia Pacific (a corporate responsibility program).
His interest lies in people development & outdoor activities from marathon running to travelling & appreciating local cuisine.
