Student Visa Sponsorship
UOWD provides "visa sponsorship" for international students seeking to study at the University. UOWD visa sponsorship enables international students to arrive in the UAE on an international student visa. UOWD visa sponsorship is only available for students who enrol on a full-time basis in a program of study. Students are required to pay a charge of AED 6,000 of which, AED 2,500 is a refundable deposit. This fee covers UOWD visa sponsorship and health insurance.
Procedures for sponsorship cannot commence until after the student has accepted an unconditional offer of a place and has paid all fees due as per the Letter of Offer.
An international student visa is normally valid for a period of 12 months. Students who wish to terminate their studies prior to the expiry of the visa will have their UOWD sponsored visa cancelled immediately. In these circumstances, students will have to make arrangements to leave the country or seek other forms of sponsorship.
The University reserves the right to monitor the academic progress and attendance of all international students. In case of non-attendance and/or failure to satisfy the minimum rate of academic progress, University sponsorship of the student's visa will be terminated.
