Global remuneration expert advises HR students on pay benchmarking and structures

Master of Strategic Human Resource Management students and Bachelor of Commerce: Human Resource Management students from UOWD (University of Wollongong in Dubai) recently benefited from a talk by Robert Mosley, Global Remuneration Expert and former Senior Vice President of HR at Emirates Group, on market pay benchmarking and building a total remuneration pay structure.

The talk was hosted in conjunction with the Human Resource Forum (THRF) and saw over 100 delegates from Dubai’s burgeoning HR community join with UOWD’s students to learn more about how market data, internal business structures and the wider economy can have an impact on a company’s pay structures.

“There’s a saying which I like to use – “the best cakes are easy to cook, it’s getting the ingredients right that’s hard.” This very much applies to pay benchmarking – the biggest issue with creating a pay structure isn’t which system should we use to create it, but rather how many grades should we include” Robert explained.
