UOWD awards scholarships to academically gifted students

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently awarded scholarships of up to 50 per cent to academically gifted students, during its Spring Scholarship Ceremony held at its campus in Knowledge Park. The students and their guests joined the University’s staff on this special occasion to recognise their outstanding academic achievements in their previous studies. During his speech, Mr Felix Lanceley, Director of Student Services and Academic Registrar, praised the scholarship winners for their hard work, dedication and determination to succeed stating that they are a true inspiration for others to follow. In total, 25 scholarships were awarded to undergraduate students and 30 scholarships were awarded to postgraduate students. Sara Al Shareef, a BCom Management student, was awarded a 50 per cent scholarship – the highest grant a student can achieve. The awards were presented by UOWD President, Professor Mohamed-Vall M. Salem ZEIN, Dr Payyazhi Jayashree, Associate Dean (Education), Faculty of Business and Professor Khalid Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences
