UOWD honours outstanding students

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has honoured over 70 students at a ceremony celebrating the 2014 Dean’s Merit awards.Parents and guest joined UOWD staff to recognise the achievements of students who excelled in their academic endeavours throughout the year.The Dean's Merit List is an annual listing of students who achieve grades in the top 5% in their faculty.This year, 57 students from the Faculty of Business and 14 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences made it onto the list.UOWD President, Professor Trevor Spedding, paid tribute to the hard work and academic endeavour displayed by all the award winners, saying that it was not an easy proposition to reach the top 5% among so many high performers.The awards were presented by Professor Speeding, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Valerie Lindsay, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, Professor Mohamed Salem.
