UOWD World Vision Child Sponsorship
Sunday, 18 September, 2005
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) announced the establishment of the UOWD World Vision Child Sponsorship Scheme at its Knowledge Village premises yesterday. Under this scheme, staff members may make a voluntary contribution from their monthly salary to help children who are orphaned, or are from under-privileged families in a developing country. Dr. Michael Singleton, Director of Administration at UOWD, said, "I am touched by the fantastic response from staff to the idea of sponsoring children in developing countries. Several people from all levels of the organization will be contributing a monthly amount from their salaries towards the health, well-being and quality of life of these kids. The number of responses received so far will mean that we will be able to start this scheme by changing three young lives forever." The UOWD World Vision Child Sponsorship is through World Vision Australia, http://www.worldvision.com.au/index.asp
