Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The UOWD MBA provides students with a truly global network and unlimited opportunities to increase their cultural mobility. UOWD’s international mix of students and faculty gives students a crucial advantage in today’s competitive marketplace. The rigorous and practical MBA curriculum is delivered in a flexible 3 semesters per year, 12 subject schedule. Projects and teamwork are a key to developing the skills needed to become a global business leader.

The UOWD MBA is intended for working professionals with at least two years of work experience after graduation. The UOWD MBA is designed to equip students with the strategic and operational knowledge and skills to enable students to face the challenges of the ever changing business world.

The UOWD MBA aims to:

  • meet the needs of students who seek an integrated program for development as a professional manager
  • assist students in developing the managerial responsibilities of policy formulation, analytical problem solving, decision making and leadership
  • develop an understanding of the nature and complexities of the business decision making process in a world of change and uncertainty
  • develop students’ communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • provide opportunities for students to build a solid base for continuous self development as a practicing manager in their field of specialization
  • demonstrate an appreciation for learning as a life long process

Program Summary

Duration of Course

The course is normally 6 semesters in length. Based on 3 semesters per year, and 2 subjects per semester, this degree may be completed in 2 years.

Candidates may underload or overload per semester. Students on a University sponsored visa must take at least 2 subjects per semester.

There are 10 teaching weeks per semester.

RecognitionThis program is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education in addition to being accredited by the Australian Government. It is fully recognised within the UAE, in GCC nations and internationally for further education and employment in the private and public sectors.
Intakes

There are three intakes each year (Autumn, Spring and Summer).

  • Spring Semester: January – April
  • Summer Semester: May – July
  • Autumn Semester: August – December
AttendanceAttendance is compulsory. Each subject requires one evening of attendance per week. Classes are held 6.00pm - 9.00pm, Sunday to Thursday
