Conference Themes

The purpose of the conference is to identify where inadequacies and smokescreens exist in global policy versus organisational policy and action, and work toward developing strategies to safeguard our global workforces. In a complex, multi-national environment, it is important to consider the impact on not only employees as targets, perpetrators, and witnesses but also the cultural views of organisations and the regions in which they operate.

We welcome submissions for oral presentations and posters, full papers, workshops, and invited symposia proposals within the following themes:

Keynote Speakers

Prof Premilla D’Cruz

Professor Premilla D'Cruz

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India

Premilla D’Cruz holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. She is currently Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India. Together with Ernesto Noronha, Premilla has been researching the area of workplace bullying for over a decade and has covered various facets of the phenomenon through pioneering work which has extended the boundaries of our understanding. Premilla is Chief Co-Editor of the forthcoming Handbooks of Workplace Bullying, Emotional Abuse and Harassment (Volumes 1-4, Springer). In addition to two authored books on workplace bullying (Workplace Bullying in India [Routledge] and Depersonalized Bullying at Work [Springer]), Premilla has recently co-edited both a special issue of Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management (Emerald) on workplace bullying and a book titled Indian Perspectives on Workplace Bullying: A Decade of Insights (Springer). She has published numerous papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Information and Organization, Economic and Industrial Democracy and International Journal of Human Resource Management and made several international presentations on the topic. Premilla’s other research interests include emotions at work, self and identity at work, organizational control, and information and communication technologies (ICTs) and organizations. Premilla has been a visiting scholar at various European and Australian universities and a visiting lecturer at the ILR School, Cornell University, the USA. She has received multi-lateral and bi-lateral research grants, in addition to several awards for outstanding academic and research work throughout her student and professional career, including the VVEF Outstanding Researcher Award 2009 and 2017 at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Premilla has been President of the International Association on Workplace Bullying and Harassment (IAWBH) between 2016-2018, having earlier served as Secretary (2010-2016) and Special Interest Groups Coordinator (2008-2010). She is currently the section editor of Labour Relations and Business Ethics at the Journal of Business Ethics.

Jordi Escartín

Associate Professor Jordi Escartin

University of Barcelona, Spain 

Dr. Jordi Escartín holds a European PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB, Spain). He is currently an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at UB and Academic Collaborator at ESADE Business & Law School. He is also an associate researcher at the Center for Leadership and Behaviour in Organizations (Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany). His research touches on topics within the organizational behaviour and human resource management literature, but particularly interested in workplace bullying. Jordi has published his research in numerous international refereed journals such as Work & Stress, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Personnel Review, etc. As management consultant and senior HR advisor, he has advised managers on workplace relations, team dynamics and conflicts in International and National Public Organizations, SME, Ibex 35 and Family Business.

Catherine Mattice Zundel

Ms Catherine Mattice Zundel

MA, Coach and Consultant, USA

Catherine Mattice Zundel, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the Founder & CEO of HR consulting and training firm, Civility Partners, Inc, and partners with her clients to help them create positive cultures. Her clients include Fortune 500’s, government agencies, large and small nonprofits, universities, healthcare, and a myriad of other industries. She has appeared in major U.S. news venues as an expert, including NPR, CNN, USA Today, Forbes, TIME, and more. Catherine has written three books on workplace bullying and has delivered keynotes at many HR conferences nationally. She is also one of the founders of the National Workplace Bullying Coalition, a U.S. nonprofit focused on education and legislation for workplace bullying. Her activities there facilitated her opportunity to build the anti-bullying template policy for all government agencies in the State of Tennessee, and build training slides for the California Assembly when they were reviewing AB2053, the law that requires abusive conduct be included in California’s mandatory sexual harassment prevention training.
