UOWD seasonal celebrations raise funds for local charity

Thursday, 27 December, 2012

Staff at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently celebrated the season of goodwill by raising funds for a local children’s charity.

The UOWD End of Year Party saw staff and their families come together to take part in a range of fun and festive activities, which included a raffle in aid of the Dubai School for Special Needs. Tickets were sold amongst staff and their guests, raising AED 3400 for the local charitable organisation.

Over 150 participants joined the event, which also involved a range of family-oriented activities, including Kid’s Fashion and Talent Shows, Trivia Competitions and Employee Awards. The occasion also gave staff the opportunity to celebrate the University’s successes in 2012 and to look forward to the events and activities planned for 2013, when UOWD will mark its 20th anniversary in the UAE.

The event was hosted at the Holiday Inn Express, Dubai Media City, and the raffle prizes were kindly sponsored by: Grand Millennium hotel, Radisson Blue Media City, Golds Gym, Afnan Perfume, Tips & Toes, Jumeirah Hotel, Ambit Advertising, Fine Cuts Technical Works, Orient Travel, Zain Cakes and Iceland Waterpark.
