Communication for students on distance learning resumption

Monday, 19 April, 2021

Dear Students
We would like to welcome you to our 2021 Spring trimester. In accordance with the guidelines set by the UAE Ministry of Education, UOWD will resume this trimester via distance learning for all its students. These guidelines have been mandated to ensure the safety of all students, academic and administrative staff. The University continues to monitor the situation on a weekly basis and will notify students of any further communication from governmental authorities to ensure transparency.
Our robust IT infrastructure will ensure that learning and teaching remain seamless and uninterrupted throughout this period. Lectures conducted online will be available to students after classes have ended and our vast e-learning resources offered by our library will provide the required material for all programs. When able to do so, lab work and tutorials will be conducted on campus with safety precautions in place – please note that further information will be sent to students regarding any requirements prior to entering the campus.
The health, wellbeing and safety of our students, staff and their families remain as one of our top priorities. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take the necessary actions as per the guidelines issued by the UAE government.
From the early stages of the pandemic, the UAE’s forward-thinking leaders embarked on a strategic initiative to create self-sufficiency in fight against COVID-19. Thanks to the ongoing national initiative mandated by the government to combat the pandemic, the UAE is one of the highest per capita test rated nations. UOWD supports the nation’s efforts to vaccinate its citizens and we encourage students and their families to get vaccinated.
