FMCG giants Al Seer Group take their pick from UOWD’s cream of the crop during recruitment event

Monday, 05 January, 2015

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently joined forces with FMCG specialists Al Seer Group during an on-campus recruitment drive which saw three postgraduate students land jobs with one of the UAE’s oldest firms.

Organised by UOWD’s Career Development Centre, the recruitment drive saw a host of eager students take part in a gruelling three-stage interview process which comprised of a group discussion, a panel interview and a business case presentation in front of Al Seer’s General Manager, Mamoun Gasim.

On the back of their performance during the event, three postgraduate students, Majda Ain El Alaoui, Farhat Rahmatulla and Humayion Bilal, were selected for Al Seer’s Graduate Training Program. As Graduate Trainees, the trio have been offered the opportunity to undergo intensive on-the-job coaching in a plethora of different Al Seer functions (including sales, operations, logistics, finance, trade marketing, supply chain and human resources) for a 12 month period with a view to taking up managerial positions in the future.

Al Seer Group is one of the oldest FMCG distributors in the region, having been established over five decades ago. As a pioneer in the distribution of FMCG goods across the Lower Gulf, the Group currently represents some of the world’s most well renowned blue-chip brands in the market and work with the region’s largest retailers.
