UOWD gives recognition to employees at Staff Excellence and Service Awards

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently recognised the outstanding achievements of its employees during its annual Staff Excellence and Service Awards, held at its campus in Dubai Knowledge Park.
 
The event, attended by UOWD Board members, saw a number of academic and professional staff being honoured for their efforts in various categories including research, teaching, innovation and commitment to diversity and equality. 
 
Staff reaching five, 10, and 15 years of service were also recognised for their loyalty and dedication towards the University.
 
Speaking during the ceremony, Professor Paul Wellings CBE, Vice-Chancellor, UOW Australia commended the staff for their dedication and loyalty, contributing to the success of the University. He also highlighted the global achievements of UOW, which has been named as one of the leading universities in the world, due to its specific focus on teaching quality and the overall students experience, and commented that its success is due to the continuous efforts of both academic and professional staff.
 
Mr Peter Robson, Chairman of the Board, took the opportunity to praise Professor Mohamed Salem, President of UOWD and his team, in leading the university through some challenging times and to build the university to the premium education institution it is today.
 
The award ceremony concluded with a lunch reception and networking opportunities among the staff.
