UOWD hosts Quality Forum in association with ASQ Dubai

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently hosted a Quality Forum in association with the American Society of Quality (ASQ) with the aim to provide attendees with a practical exposure to quality management issues as well as offering the Master of Quality Management students in particular, the opportunity to meet and interact with the region’s quality professionals and ASQ representatives. The Quality Forum, which was the first of a series being launched, was attended by the students from the University including the Master of Quality Management cohort. Dr Flevy Lasrado, Assistant Professor and Quality Management Discipline Leader at UOWD, introduced the discipline related forum at the University to help students stay abreast with developments in the quality industry. “It is our aim to provide our Quality Management students with a variety of learning opportunities and interventions while they undertake MQM program with us to broaden their understanding of the industry. Our students are inspired by quality professionals and also learn from each other through high end collaborations such as this”, commented Dr Lasrado. The Quality Forum will be regular feature at UOWD and will be held once a month on a Saturday and will cover topics such as bid data, six sigma, health and safety and health care quality to name a few. Next event will be held on 18 March and is open for all quality professionals in the region and quality management students.
