UOWD is concerned with every aspect of student welfare and offers ongoing support services to ensure you enjoy a happy and healthy learning experience.

UOWD has a dedicated UniClinic, providing primary healthcare facilities to students on campus. A qualified registered nurse is on duty during normal office hours and a qualified doctor consults from the clinic once a week.

The UniClinic staff are trained to treat clients with respect, consideration and confidentiality and provide a range of supplementary healthcare services including health promotion and disease prevention, care during acute and chronic phases of illness, and outside referrals when appropriate.

The clinic also plays an active role in educating the University community and promoting health on campus. Health programs include seminars on smoking, diabetes, personal hygiene, first aid basics, drug abuse, obesity and other topics of interest to students. Blood donation drives are also organised on a regular basis.

The UniClinic is located in Block 5 of the Dubai Knowledge Park campus and is open five days a week between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm throughout the academic year. The Doctor and Nurse are also on-call for emergency assistance outside clinic hours.

If the prescribed medication is not available from the UniClinic, the patient is responsible for the cost of filling the prescription at an external pharmacy.

Students and staff are responsible for the cost of laboratory tests and x-rays performed outside the centre, and expenses incurred when referred to an off-campus physician or hospital.
