Dr Benharref is an Associate Professor and the Program Leader for the Bachelor of Information Technology Management and the Bachelor of Computer Science degrees at the University of Wollongong in Dubai.
He obtained his PhD in Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and also holds a Master’s degree in Network and Telecommunication from ENSIAS / University of Montreal and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Caddi Ayyad University, Morocco, along with university teaching certificates from Concordia University and Université du Québec à Montreal, Montreal, Canada.
Dr Benharref teaches on the Bachelor of Computer Science degree. He teaches a broad range of computer science courses including programming (all levels, C/C++ and Java), operating systems, systems development, network security, distributed systems, as well as supervising students in their capstone projects. His student centric teaching approach is designed to favour learning through pragmatic realisation of theoretical content.

Dr Benharref’s research interests include mobile applications, ehealth applications, web services, and distributed systems. He collaborates with researchers from many universities in the UAE, Canada, and the USA.
Dr Benharref is a member of the IEEE and IEEE Computer Society, and has been for many years.
