Dr Greig is an Associate Professor of Human Resources at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, where he also teaches various management subjects. He completed his PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, specialising in Industrial Relations. Dr Greig's academic career is distinguished by a commitment to teaching excellence and a forward-thinking pedagogical style.

In his educational approach, Dr Greig is recognised as an award-winning educator who emphasises the importance of preparing students for real-world challenges. He fosters a student-centred environment in his classrooms, focusing on authentic and experiential learning and assessment. His teaching philosophy is rooted in presenting students with practical situations and problems they are likely to face in their professional lives, thereby equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in dynamic business environments.

Dr Greig's research interests are deeply embedded in the qualitative study of employment relations. He adopts a critical perspective in his research, primarily exploring themes related to industrial relations, the sociology of work, and trade union organisation. His recent projects include critiques of privatisation and analyses of government policy concerning liberal market political economy principles in Australia. Dr Greig's scholarly contributions also cover leadership in organisations, cross-cultural management, and international human resource management, with a particular focus on the port and car manufacturing industries, although he remains broadly interested in employment relations across various sectors.

Before his tenure at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, which began in August 2023, Dr Greig held positions as an Assistant Professor at the School of Management at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and at the School of Business and Management at RMIT University Vietnam from 2016 to 2019. His extensive experience and research have not only enriched his teaching but also positioned him as a thought leader in the field of human resources and management.
