UOWD and Andersen Launch Job Shadowing and Mentorship Program

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has launched a new Job Shadowing and Mentorship Program in collaboration with Andersen, a global leader in tax, legal, and consulting services. The two-week initiative is designed to offer students hands-on exposure to real-world work environments while building their confidence and career direction.

Organised by UOWD’s Careers and Alumni Department, the program connects more than 20 students with Andersen’s professionals across Marketing, Tax, and Risk & Governance teams. Over the course of the program, students gain insight into the daily workings of consulting practices, participate in skill-building workshops, and receive one-on-one mentorship tailored to their areas of interest.

“This program is about more than just shadowing professionals, it’s about building confidence, clarifying career paths, and helping our students see what’s possible beyond the classroom,” said Mary Gosha, Careers and Alumni Manager at UOWD. “We’re grateful to Andersen for opening their doors to our students and investing in their future.”

The program kicked off with an engaging induction day that introduced students to Andersen’s core values, culture, and professional development philosophy. Through a mix of presentations, team-building activities, and alumni insights, students were given a clear view of how personal growth is supported at Andersen.

A highlight of the program was that current students got to hear from two UOWD alumni, Rishi Sundaram and Joseph Mendez, who are now building thriving careers at Andersen. Both alumni shared their professional journeys and offered guidance to students on navigating the transition from university to the corporate world.

Through initiatives like this, UOWD continues to strengthen its commitment to developing career-ready graduates equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving job market.
