Nader Nassar
“Technology should serve humanity. When it does, innovation becomes a tool for lasting impact.” – Nader Nassar
UOWD alumnus Nader Nassar is shaping the future of healthcare as the founder of Hlthera, a UAE-born platform using AI to make care more accessible worldwide.
For Australian alumnus Nader Nassar, purpose and innovation have always gone hand in hand. Since graduating from the University of Wollongong in Dubai with a Bachelor of Engineering: Telecommunications in 2017, a Master of Engineering Management in 2019, and now pursuing a Master of Digital Transformation, Nader has built a career that bridges engineering, leadership, and vision.
Today, he is the founder of Hlthera, a world-class AI-powered social healthcare platform. Hlthera was selected as part of the Emaratipreneur Program 2025 and into the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund, a prestigious accelerator backed by the UAE government that supports ventures with global potential. The recognition validated Hlthera’s mission to reimagine access to healthcare and positioned Nader as a leader in the fast-evolving field of digital health.
His work has also been acknowledged by global leaders such as Procter and Gamble for strategic innovation, and his journey has been featured in Finance Middle East and Zawya. In 2025, Nader was also selected as one of the Arab Youth Pioneers, an initiative of the Arab Youth Centre held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The program brings together outstanding young leaders from across the Arab world, celebrating those who are shaping the future in fields such as innovation, health sciences, and entrepreneurship.
The path was not without obstacles. In the early days of Hlthera, uncertainty often outweighed progress. “I questioned if the vision was too ambitious,” he recalls. “But I reminded myself why I started and leaned into that purpose.” With perseverance and support from mentors, he turned those challenges into stepping stones.
Looking ahead, Nader is determined to scale Hlthera beyond the UAE and establish it as a category-defining platform in digital health. He also envisions supporting other founders, investing in health tech innovation, and shaping conversations around ethical AI-driven care.
Nader credits UOWD for giving him the foundation to think critically, collaborate globally, and lead with empathy. “UOWD gave me more than a technical education. It built my confidence and problem-solving mindset, and it gave me friendships and mentors that continue to guide me today.”
Beyond his professional achievements, Nader finds balance through endurance horse riding. He has competed in races such as the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup for Private Stables and has been a long-time supporter of the Pink Caravan ride for cancer awareness. For him, these passions are a reminder of resilience, discipline, and the importance of giving back to the community.
His advice to current students is clear. “Be patient with your journey. Do not rush to have it all figured out. Every experience, even the uncertain ones, is adding to your story. What matters is your curiosity, your resilience, and the purpose that guides you.”
We congratulate Nader on his remarkable journey and are proud to have him as part of the UOWD alumni community. His achievements carry forward the spirit of excellence and innovation that defines our graduates, and we are honored to see the UOWD name represented on such a global stage.
