The 8th International Conference on Smart Finance (ICSF2023)
The new wave of digital technologies –AI, blockchain, Semantic Web, big data, and Immersive 3D technologies–has been proclaimed as the next big trend in FinTech. Collectively, these technologies comprise the framework for Web 3.0 and will enrich the future of Smart Finance.
Smart Finance is research and development about FinTech in the intersection of data-driven technologies and new finance (cryptocurrency, crowdfunding, supply chain finance, and e-payments). The International Conference on Smart Finance (ICSF2023) is a platform for academic scholars and industry leaders to connect and communicate on how to harness financial technology. ICSF sets its goals on promoting industrial best practices and government regulations in relevant business areas, on facilitating academic researchers to study industrial standards, theoretical advances, and educational frameworks, and on connecting industries and academics to identify and collaborate on unprecedented new opportunities.
Professor Bohui Zhang
Professor Bohui Zhang is Presidential Chair Professor of Finance and Executive Dean of School of Management and Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He is also the associate director of Shenzhen Institute of Data Economy, and the director of the Center for FinTech and Social Finance at Shenzhen Finance Institute. Before joining CUHK Shenzhen, he was the professor of finance at UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney, and the associate director of the Institute of Global Finance. He studies the role of information intermediaries on capital markets, Chinese and foreign capital markets, and Fintech. His papers have been accepted for publication in the global top-tier finance, accounting, and business journals. He has also been awarded with research grants from Australian Research Council, the Centre for International Finance and Regulation, Australian School of Business, and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Professor Zied Ftiti
Professor Zied Ftiti is full professor of Financial Economics, and Associate Dean of Research at EDC Paris Business School. After completing his master’s degree in Money, Finance, and International Economics (Option of Applied Macroeconomics) at University of Lyon 2, he has obtained his PhD in Economics in University of Lyon (GATE Laboratory, CNRS-UMR 5824) and a PhD in Business in the University of Tunis, High Institute of Management. In 2013, he obtained Qualification (“habiliation”) for Supervising Doctoral Research in management sciences, from University of Tunis, and in 2019 he obtained Qualification (“habiliation”) for supervising doctoral in Economics in University of CY Cergy Paris University. His research area includes Macroeconomics (monetary policy, capital flows, inflation, etc.), International Finance (behavioral finance, financial markets, alternative investment & markets), Financial Econometrics (time series analysis, frequency analysis and high frequency data).
Professor Jing Wu
Professor Jing Wu is a tenured associate professor at CUHK Business School, specializing in the operations-finance interface, global supply chains, FinTech, and business intelligence. He holds a Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University. Prof. Wu has received multiple best paper awards in OM and IS fields, with his research published in renowned journals like Management Science, M&SOM, and POMS. In particular, his quantitative research findings on the supply chain impact of COVID-19 and the Trade War have been reported by over 400 media outlets in over 20 countries worldwide. He is also a Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management and serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Operations Management. Before entering academia, he worked as a quantitative strategist at Deutsche Bank New York.
Dr Ye Luo
Dr Ye Luo received his Ph.D from Massachusetts Institute of Technology at year 2015. He received his B.S. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology at year 2010, majored in Mathematics and Economics. Before joining FBE of HKU, he worked as assistant professor at the economics department in University of Florida. Dr. Ye Luo’s main research interests include high dimensional econometrics/statistics, machine learning and its empirical applications in economics and finance, for example, applying machine learning and A.I. in default risk prediction, algorithmic trading, dynamic demand prediction, etc. He also has interest and expertise in natural language processing.
Sunil Peer
Extensive experience in the ICT industry covering a wide range of roles and functions. Over the last 25 years have handled a variety of Industry Segments, Verticals, Products & Solutions and Consulting Services BU’s across Global ICT Organizations. At Huawei, my responsibility is to work closely with customers understand their Technology environments and business challenges and help create Technology and Business transformation roadmaps and solutions.
Gerry Fahy
PAT Business School was originally founded in conjunction with the Irish Times Group and Gerry has been its Managing Director since 2018. He has lectured for more than 25 years with all of the professional accountancy bodies and on two occasions he was shortlisted for the CIMA Global Accountancy lecturer of the year award. PAT Business School reflects the continued diversity and growth of industry, Professional body and University accredited curricula to reflect the emerging demands for business & finance professionals with work-ready skills.
Rachel Woolley
Rachel is a financial crime subject-matter expert, with particular expertise in AML/CTF legislation and financial crime typologies. Working for some of the world's largest financial institutions, Rachel began her career as a compliance officer, focusing on anti-money laundering and broader risk management. For the past several years, Rachel has worked in regulatory technology, developing a unique perspective on the benefits of leveraging technology in the fight against financial crime.

Financial Innovation
FIN emphasizes emerging financial products, processes and services that are enabled by the introduction of disruptive technologies. FIN is peer-reviewed and publishes both high-quality academic (theoretical or empirical) and practical papers in the broad ranges of financial innovation. Financial Innovation ranked 8th in finance journals according to impact factor (Latest IF=6.793).
IET Blockchain
IET Blockchain aims to publish high-quality research papers focusing on the latest advances in blockchain and its applications. The journal reports fundamental research results, cutting-edge technologies, latest developments and emerging applications of the blockchain technology.
Submission Details
All submissions must have not been accepted or conditionally accepted by a journal.
Submission should be made via the Easychair system.
Both abstract and paper submissions are welcome. Abstract submissions should be 2-3 pages. Paper submissions should be 3-5 pages, including abstract, main text, figures, tables, and references. Submissions exceeding 5 pages will be desk rejected.
