- Dr Ruwan J Bandara
Dr Bandara is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Business. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wollongong in Australia. He is currently the lead for the Sustainable Business Practices research cluster.
Dr Bandara has taught diverse subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including in the MBA and PhD programs. He is highly passionate about active and transformational learning and facilitating students’ positive and lifelong learning journey.
His research interests focus on how technology is transforming how firms manage work. Currently, he is working on research projects on the future of work, AI-driven HRM, and algorithmic bias management. His publications have appeared in a number of high-ranked A/A* publications. He has also been identified as a high-potential researcher at both UOW Australia and Dubai.
Prior to joining UOWD, Dr Bandara worked in project management for over five years. He also worked as an academic in multiple institutions in Australia.

- His research focuses on the future of work, AI-driven HRM, technology management, responsible leadership, and sustainability.
He is a member of the Academy of Management.
- Dr Bandara teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including MBA and PhD.
- He has taught subjects such as, but not limited to, Strategic HRM, Human Resource Development, Responsible Talent Management Strategies, Change Management, Responsible Leadership, and Literature Review.
