- Dr Mouhannad Alattar
Dr Mouhannad Alattar is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Franche-Comté, France.
Dr Alattar’s teaching philosophy centers on building a strong theoretical foundation while consistently connecting course content to real-world challenges. By linking concepts to practical applications, he enables students to see the relevance of their learning in professional contexts. He fosters a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that encourages open discussion, problem-solving, and the development of critical thinking skills.
His research interests lie in addressing cybersecurity challenges across the domains of the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He focuses on designing innovative security frameworks to safeguard interconnected devices, protect cloud infrastructure, and enhance the robustness of AI systems in the face of evolving cyber threats.
Dr Alattar brings a wealth of industry experience to his academic role. He has served as Cybersecurity Officer and Manager at Ingenico, Cybersecurity Architect for ACM within the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance, and as a Cybersecurity Penetration Tester and Consultant at Trusted Labs (Gemalto/Thales). Additionally, he was a Cybersecurity Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Franche-Comté.
