Ignite Integrity (I2) - Spring Camp 2024
Academic Integrity is the foundation of education, but the growing absence of it has seen a sharp rise in student cheating in classrooms, particularly during the pandemic. A global menace, academic misconducts have been linked directly to lack of workplace professionalism and ethics.
ENAI OW Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE in collaboration with University of Wollongong in Dubai is excited to announce the Ignite Integrity (I2) Spring camp, the first camp of its kind in the region that was launched in 2019. This year, it will be hosted online from 2 April 2024 to 4 April 2024, with option to attend last day onsite.
The camp is open to school students from Grades 6 - 12 only
Considering the boom in artificial intelligence and its effect on education generally, the three-day spring camp has been organized to create, promote and enrich the student community in the UAE and to help increase awareness and interest towards academic integrity in order to assist school students to experience a smooth transition into higher education. It aims to arm students with valuable skills in academic writing, referencing, understanding, and developing sense of integrity so that they may be certified as Academic Integrity Ambassadors for their schools and peers – a highly regarded skill set that will add significant value towards their college applications, higher education and beyond.

Registration Fee and Space
There is a nominal registration fee for each participant – AED100 inclusive of VAT per head for the entire camp.
Please note – the registration fee is a participating fee for the Campers to attend the camp. The fee includes attending the workshops and competition from 2 April – 4 April 2024. Campers wishing to attend all three days or attending any one of the days will be expected to pay the complete fee, regardless of the number of days of attendance.
Group discount is available for two or more students, if they register together. In this case, the discount is 50% off per student for a minimum payment of AED100/- inclusive of VAT.
Please note there are limited seats for the event. Registration and booking will be on a first come-first-serve basis. All fees are non-refundable.

Ignite Integrity (I2) Spring Camp details
Morning classes and workshops
Each morning for 2.5-3.5 hours daily, Monday and Tuesday, our instructors will be engaging with the campers to work on an area of Academic Writing and Integrity, introducing them to a new skill and helping them to understand the potentials of the particular areas. The workshops are structured to assist the campers discover specific areas of academic writing, expand their interests, general knowledge and dispel potential obstacles and misconceptions about cheating in academia. Campers are expected to attend all three days to receive their e-Certificate of Completion and “Academic Integrity Ambassador” badges.
All instructors of the workshops specialize in their respective areas in Academic Writing and Integrity and are either researchers, professional staff or student champions at ENAI WG Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE and/or University of Wollongong in Dubai and/or from the industry.

Academic Writing and Integrity Competition and Closing Day
On the third day of the camp, the campers will be able to engage in a fun-filled competition to try out their skills in academic writing. After the competition, they will be able to witness the judging process that will be tracked through a software, Turnitin. They will get academic career and preparedness counselling and given aids and materials to help them become champions of integrity among their peers. At the closing, the campers will all be presented with e-Certificate of Completion and winners will be announced. All campers who successfully complete the program and take the honour-pledge , will be awarded Academic Integrity Ambassador badges. Parents are welcome to attend the closing and badging ceremony ONLINE on the last day with the campers.
Terms and Conditions
Ignite Integrity (I2) is a non-boarding spring camp program that is designed to serve Campers residing the United Arab Emirates, who wish to attend our spring camps on a day-only basis. This program runs daily from Monday through Wednesday starting at 10am and ending 1:30pm, and includes morning classes, workshops, a competition, and career advice that will mark the end of the camp. Transportation and boarding are not included as part of the camp.
