UOWD Career Fair 2026 Opens Doors to Diverse Career Pathways Across the UAE
Tuesday, 03 November, 2026
The University of Wollongong in Dubai’s Career Fair 2026 gave students the opportunity to explore the breadth of career pathways available across the UAE, connecting directly with employers from established industries as well as fast-growing technology sectors.
From engineering, professional services and logistics to hospitality, healthcare, real estate, media and communications, the Fair reflected the diversity of today’s employment landscape and encouraged students to think more broadly about where their skills and qualifications could take them.
The students engaged with the participating companies, including L’Oréal, Emerson, Parsons, Protiviti, CBRE, MSD and Hilton. New employers joining the Fair this year included Keeta, Sangfor Technologies, Capgemini I&D, Stellantis, McCoin Virtual Assets, Metadata Technologies, Tractebel/ENGIE, SpacePoint, TikTok, Taaleem and Viory, among others.
Technology and emerging career pathways
Technology and engineering were particularly well represented at this year’s Fair, reflecting the growing relevance of areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data analytics across the UAE employment market.
Employers including Sangfor Technologies, CyberKnight, Capgemini I&D, HelpAG and Metadata Technologies gave students the opportunity to learn more about roles within these fields and understand the technical and professional skills employers are increasingly looking for.
At the same time, the presence of engineering and energy organisations such as Emerson, Parsons and Tractebel/ENGIE highlighted how technology and innovation are also reshaping more established industries.
For students, these conversations provided an opportunity to look beyond familiar job titles and gain a clearer understanding of how their knowledge and skills can translate across sectors.
Preparing students to make the most of every conversation
Ahead of the Fair, UOWD’s Careers Department organised Career Fair Preparation Week, attended by more than 200 students.
Sessions included The 60-Second Hook: Introduce Yourself & Get Hired, CV Rescue Session: Turn Your CV Into an Interview Magnet and a CV Clinic Feedback Session with Hilton and Blue Rhine Industries.
The sessions focused on helping students introduce themselves confidently, strengthen their CVs and better understand what recruiters are looking for.
This preparation was reflected in feedback received from participating employers, who praised the calibre of UOWD students and highlighted their professionalism, confidence and ability to engage in meaningful conversations about their skills, interests and career aspirations.
Employers also reinforced the importance of combining technical knowledge with communication skills, adaptability, practical experience and a willingness to learn. Internships, academic projects and extracurricular activities were highlighted as valuable ways for students to demonstrate what they can bring to a role.
From conversations to career opportunities
The impact of Career Fair 2026 is continuing beyond the event itself, with several participating employers already beginning interviews with candidates they met at the Fair. AuraCube has also arranged interview sessions on campus as part of its recruitment activity.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the Fair was seeing UOWD alumni and current student interns return alongside their employers, including representatives from L’Oréal, Sangfor Technologies, McCoin Virtual Assets, Protiviti and Tractebel/ENGIE.
Their presence gave current students a tangible view of where their own university experience could lead and demonstrated how connections made through internships, employer engagement and career development opportunities can translate into professional pathways.
Building career connections throughout the year
Career engagement at UOWD continues throughout the year through employer talks, recruitment sessions and direct opportunities to connect with industry professionals.
Students can also access internship and graduate opportunities through UOWD CareersHub and are encouraged to keep their profiles and CVs updated, monitor new vacancies and continue participating in employer activities.
Career Fair 2026 provided a valuable opportunity for students to explore an increasingly diverse employment landscape, understand the skills shaping emerging career pathways and build connections that can support their next steps beyond university.
