Master of Business (Human Resource Management)

This specialisation is for aspiring leaders within the Human Resources field who wish to enhance their understanding of the key concepts involved with strategic human resource management such as creatively analysing and solving organisational problems and creating strategic alignment between human capital and organisational goals. The program instructs you on how to examine structures, systems, culture and leadership, including how to implement organisational change and how to leverage competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

Note: Degree name to be changed to Master of Human Resource Management for students commencing in September 2021 (Autumn 2021 intake).

Professional Accreditation

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), UK

The program is accredited by the The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Upon successful completion of the Master of Business in Human Resource Management, the Student will become an Associate Member of the CIPD, with the possibility to upgrade to a Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow status. Completing a Master’s degree in HRM by an Approved Centre is the equivalent of taking a CIPD Level 7 Qualification in Human Resources. Holding such a degree will enhance the Student’s professional prospects, reward and benefits and overall career growth. 

Australian Institute of Human Resources (AHRI)

This program is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). Students will enjoy a variety of benefits contributing to their personal and professional development in order to advance into more senior leadership roles. The accreditation will also serve as a pathway to AHRI Membership status

Accreditation and Recognition

Accreditation and Recognition

All Business programs at the University of Wollongong in Dubai are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the UAE Ministry of Education and are licensed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Also, all Business programs of the University of Wollongong are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

All MBus programs are also quality assured by UOW Australia, which is registered with the Australian Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national regulator of higher education in Australia. Upon graduation, students can choose either a degree certificate from UOWD or a degree certificate from the University of Wollongong Australia.

Double Specialisation

The Master of Business program also offers specialisations in Marketing, Financial Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, International Business and Management. If you decide you would like to complete two MBus specialisations when you enrol at UOWD, there are arrangements in place that mean you can do this in in minimal time. Program Duration

The maximum requirement to graduate from a single specialisation MBus program is twelve (12) subjects. However, if you have completed a Bachelor degree in a relevant area or a UOWD Graduate Certificate in Business, you may be able to complete the MBus program in a total of ten (10) subjects in line with UOWD’s policy on Credit for Prior Learning. Your eligibility for Credit for Prior Learning will be decided in consultation with UOWD’s Faculty of Business office prior to the beginning of the program.

To complete a single specialisation, it will normally take you five or six semesters (based on 3 mandatory semesters per year where you take 2 subjects). At this rate, the degree can be completed within two years or less. If you take 3 subjects per mandatory semester, you can fast-track your degree and complete the program in four or five semesters (just over a year). Classes are held from 6:00pm - 9:30pm, Sunday to Thursday, with occasional Saturday classes. Each subject requires one evening of attendance for 11 weeks.
