China National Petroluem Corporation welcomed to UOWD for intensive Arabic course

Sunday, 05 April, 2015

UOWD has recently welcomed a delegation of 19 professionals from China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) who have joined the University for a 6 month intensive Arabic course.

The students will be studying at the University’s Language Studies Centre, an award-winning hub located in the centre of Dubai. The 6 month training period will see the students attend 500 hours of classes, focusing on Arabic speaking, listening, reading and writing. Towards the end of the program, the emphasis will shift to learning Arabic specifically for use in the oil industry. The professionals will also come away from their time at UOWD with an in-depth understanding of Arabic history and culture.

Commenting on the course, Brett Lovegrove, Director of Administration and Strategy, said: “It’s wonderful to welcome the China National Petroleum Corporation back to UOWD for the fourth consecutive year. Our focus on providing bespoke language training courses for corporate organisations is something we take great pride in, and nothing says more about the quality of the tuition and service that the delegates receive than the fact that the organisations choose to come back to UOWD year after year. We’re looking forward to seeing the CNPC class of 2015 blossom into proficient Arabic speakers over the next six months.”
