Class of 2024 Graduation: A Celebration of Growth and Success

Graduation is one of the most rewarding moments of the year for the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD). On October 29 and 30, 2024, we had the privilege of celebrating the Class of 2024, joined by graduates, their families, and our faculty. It was a time to honour their hard work, determination, and the incredible milestones they achieved during their time with us.

For our students, this day was not just about receiving their degrees—it was about celebrating everything they overcame to get here. From balancing work, studies, and personal commitments to finding their passions and building lifelong friendships, each graduate has their own inspiring story, and we could not be prouder of all they have accomplished.

The undergraduate ceremony was honoured by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum and His Excellency Mr Ridwaan Jadwat, Australian Ambassador to the UAE, who presented awards to our top graduates.

The postgraduate ceremonies featured inspiring speeches from Mr Ivor McGettigan, Partner at Al Tamimi & Company, and Mr Keenan Hamza, Vice President of Technology Futures & Innovation at Emirates Group, who shared insights into leadership and innovation, offering graduates a glimpse of the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

In his address to the graduates, UOWD President Professor Mohamed Salem remarked, "Today, we honour not only your academic accomplishments but also your personal growth as part of a university community that has always placed your future at its core. Each of you is now part of a global alumni network dedicated to growth, equipped to lead and innovate in an ever-evolving world. Your time here has prepared you not just for today’s opportunities but for tomorrow’s possibilities."

As our graduates move on to new challenges and opportunities, we couldn’t be prouder. They leave UOWD equipped not just with degrees but with the skills, experiences, and connections that will shape their futures.
