The participants of the first intake of Introduction to Tertiary Teaching (ITT) (pictured below) were awarded their certificates in a ceremony held last week at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. The ITT is a staff development course which has been running since 2002 at UOWD with the aim of enhancing the teaching effectiveness of academic staff, and providing them with the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes in higher education. The ITT course is designed to accommodate the needs of academics new to tertiary education and those existing academic staff who might be looking for new ways of thinking about their teaching. The second ITT intake is currently under way with 18 participants taking part in a series of workshops, seminars and peer evaluations.
