Master of Quality Management students brush shoulders with industry leaders and quality experts at Benchmarking Forum 2016

Tuesday, 15 March, 2016

Master of Quality Management students from the University of Wollongong in Dubai had the opportunity to network with industry leaders and quality experts at the Department of Economic Development and Dubai Quality Group’s Benchmarking Forum 2016.

The Forum was a chance for students to learn more about case studies focusing on EFQM award winning organisations around the globe, along with a valuable opportunity to speak with senior managers of various UAE organizations.

Dr Flevy Lasrado, who organised the trip, explained: “It is an important for students of the Masters of Quality Management program to interact with industry to help them understand various business portfolios and secure a real time business process for their projects. Students on this program investigate the real-world process from a customer’s perspective, identify root causes for poor performance and identify relevant improvement opportunities as part of their course assignment.”

Yara, an MQM student who attended the forum, said: "I learnt a lot from the event. It's interesting to know how CEO's made it to their position. Their journeys are a lesson to us that we should always think outside of the box and be creative. You never know when that idea might take you to another level of innovation and success.”
