University of Wollongong in Dubai joins hands with EFQM to offer students assessor training

Wednesday, 13 January, 2016

The foundation behind one of the world’s most well-known management frameworks has joined hands with the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently to offer the University’s students the opportunity to study a series of interrelated training courses, designed to help them to be able to effectively assess organisations as part of a high performing international team.

EFQM will be running a range of programs at the University across a range of dates over the course of the year. Open to Quality Management professionals across the region, UOWD students will benefit from a 20 per cent discount on the usual course fees due to the University’s membership of the Foundation .

EFQM is the custodian of the EFQM Excellence Model, a blueprint for EFQM members and organisations across Europe and beyond to develop a culture of excellence, access good practices, drive innovation and improve their results. The courses set to run at UOWD will be organised by the organisation’s newly opened Middle East office, based in Dubai’s Knowledge Village.

The first courses set to run are the Sustainability Management course (25-26 January 2016) and the Sustainability Assessor Training (27-28 January 2016), marking the first time that the programs have been run outside of the organisation’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. They will offer participants an opportunity to understand the way to manage sustainability within their organisation and handle required change, along with the ability to be able to assess and improve their organisation’s sustainability level.

The 3-day EFQM Assessor Training course (21 – 23 February 2016) will teach students how to assess companies using the EFQM Excellence Model, including conducting site visit interviews and assessing and scoring.

All three courses offer a valuable addition to students’ CVs, especially for those studying towards a Master of Quality Management degree.

For more information about future courses, students are requested to visit,  get in contact with UOWD Master of Quality Management faculty member Dr Slim Saidi or email
