Dr. Raed Awamleh, Dean of Academic Affairs at UOWD congratulated University academics Lejla Vrazalic and Lois Smith on receiving funding for their submission "Project for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (PELT) at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD)". The successful application was made to a competitive grant scheme at the University of Wollongong in Australia from the Educational Strategies Development Fund (ESDF) aimed at promoting strategic educational developments in line with the UOWDs Learning and Teaching Strategic Plan. Projects are awarded up to a maximum of AU$10,000.UOWD PELT aims to implement integrated support services for student learning and staff development at UOWD in co-ordination with the Learning Development Centre at UOW. PELT is envisioned as a pilot project that will ultimately lead to the establishment of an independent Centre for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) at UOWD.
