UOWD Accelerates Graduate Mobility with MoHESR-Verified Digital Credentials
Wednesday, 14 May, 2025
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has introduced a fully digital attestation service for all degree certificates and transcripts, delivered in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MoHESR) and the Educhain platform.
Under the new framework, each graduate receives a PDF version of their certificate and academic transcript that is authenticated by MoHESR and secured with blockchain technology. The documents are issued directly to the student’s UAE Pass account and personal email shortly after conferral, eliminating traditional paper-based steps and significantly reducing turnaround time.
Key Advantages for Future UOWD Graduates
- Immediate readiness for employment and further study
MoHESR-verified credentials are recognised by UAE government entities, professional-licensing bodies, and an increasing number of international universities and employers. Graduates can share their documents instantly through a QR-code verifier embedded in each file, expediting recruitment, licensing, or admissions procedures. - Tamper-proof security
Blockchain safeguards ensure that records cannot be altered once issued. Verifiers scan the QR code to confirm authenticity directly against MoHESR’s registry, simplifying compliance for organisations that require independently validated qualifications. - Reduced administrative burden
Digital delivery eliminates the need for courier services and physical document handling in most cases. Optional printed copies remain available for jurisdictions that continue to prefer hard-copy submissions. - Alignment with UOWD’s digital-transformation agenda
The initiative complements other technology-enabled student services—such as automated admissions support and online learning enhancements—designed to streamline academic and administrative processes throughout the student lifecycle.
The adoption of MoHESR-endorsed digital attestation underscores UOWD’s commitment to equipping graduates with credentials that are both globally portable and immediately verifiable. Prospective students can therefore plan with confidence, knowing that their future degree documents will meet the rigorous standards required by employers, licensing authorities, and postgraduate institutions in the UAE and beyond.
