The October UOWD Alumni Network Monthly Seminar Series featured Jennifer Bibbings, a Partner in the law firm of Trowers & Hamlins LLP. Jennifers presentation focussed on setting up and operating business in the UAE/GCC, and included information on the economic backdrop, various options available and possible barriers. Jennifer specializes in many aspects of UAE corporate and commercial work, including mergers and acquisitions, distribution and franchising, and incorporations. Based in the Dubai regional office, her work covers Gulf countries other than the UAE, as well as the wider region. She has represented many household names in retail, fast food, hospitality and entertainment sectors, including McDonald's, Walt Disney, Marks & Spencer, Hilton Hotels and Harvey Nichols. Jennifer is Honorary Legal Advisor to the British Consul General. She was Chairman of the British Business Group of Dubai and the Northern Emirates from 2003 to 2006, following three years as Deputy Chairman. She is a member of the Governing Council of the British University in Dubai, and a Governor of the Jebel Ali Primary School.
