The Games room in Block 5 was full of excitement on 13 February 2008-the day for all the Table Tennis players to showcase their talent in the competition organized by student services - sports section. In the women's category Parvathi Radhakrishnan defeated Sonia Joseph in the finals to claim the title, Parvathi scored a convincing win over Aysha in the semifinals while Sonia won against Rashida. In the men's category 17 year old CLC student Mohammad Reza won the title defeating Ammar with 4-2 margin, earlier Mohammad defeated Shaher 3-0 in the semifinals while Ammar had a tough time defeating Ali by 3-2 to reach the finals. The tournament was well attended by UOWD students, the winner in both the category got AED 200 gift voucher respectively while the runner up got AED 100 gift voucher each.
