UOWD reinforces its local position by strengthening its ties with India Club

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) recently had a networking luncheon event at the India Club to strengthen and develop the strategic relationship with the Indian community in Dubai. The event included a talk by Dr Mohan Guruswamy, a well-respected academic at UOWD on “Developing Talent and Employability in a University Environment”. More than 100 elite club members attended the event which was followed by short presentation about ‘Life at UOWD’ presented by Mr Mohammed Hettini, Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment at the University. Mr Hettini commented that the University is always keen to explore new opportunities to strengthen its ties with the Indian community in Dubai. “It is important to stay in touch with local needs and demands to enable us to adjust our strategies and to align it with student expectations”, he added. Dr Guruswamy said during his presentation that all managers should be accountable for developing talent within the workplace. He also added that it is important to grow leaders – as they are our future. UOWD is committed to provide high quality education and all the programs incorporate the development of leadership skills ensuring that students will be offered great opportunities for career advancement in the future.
