UOWD research unveils Innovation Elevation Roadmap

Leading academic expert set to publish research monograph with Palgrave Macmillan UK With the UAE’s growing focus on innovation, did it ever cross your mind how organisations should elevate their innovation status for the future? Dr Flevy Lasrado, Assistant Professor at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), is set to release a research monograph with Palgrave Macmillan, UK, following a comprehensive research study. The book, titled Fostering Creativity and Innovation: Creating a Sustainable Innovation Environment in the UAE, will cover specific topics of Building a Strong Foundation for a High-functioning Culture of Creativity and Innovation, A Framework for Assessing Innovation, Using a Maturity Model Assessment cases of innovations and Sustaining Innovation and Future Research Implications. “The idea behind this research work is to help organisations assess their innovation capability and to draw a road map to improve their innovation journey. I have provided an easy-to-use model which organisations can use to elevate their innovation status to a next level”, commented Dr Lasrado. Ms Liz Barlow, Head of Business and Management, at Palgrave Macmillan commented that the scope of the project is certainly timely, as it shows how organisations can establish a culture of creativity at a global level. The reviewer of the upcoming book noted that the topic is contemporary and original and was impressed with the proposition of a new framework for assessment of innovation along with practical case studies. Dr Lasrado was also team leader and assessor for UAE Innovation Awards 2018. As she toured the Innovation Centre and Harvard Business School recently, she said UAE cases are becoming global interest. Springer New York, will be associating with Dr Lasrado to publish these cases on innovation in the UAE.
