Sports teams from the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) have collected three trophies at Heriot Watt University’s Scottish Highland Games.The men’s volleyball team and women’s basketball team were crowned champions in their respective competitions, while the women’s volleyball team took the runner’s up position after narrowly missing out on the top spot in a close final match.Six universities took part in the five-day tournament, which saw UOWD beat the hosts, Heriot Watt University, in both of their title winning performances. The women’s volleyball team lost out to Manipal University by just one point, to take second place in their tournament. The teams are in good form as they prepare to participate in the forthcoming Skyline Inter-University Sports Festival starting 16 February.
