UOWD wins at Crossfire Debate Championship

The University of Wollongong in Dubai 'Speech and Debate' team wins again with another impressive performance in the inter-collegiate competition circuit. The UOWD debating team of Sonia Manek and Samarth Meherish competed against 8 other UAE universities in the 7th annual Skyline Crossfire Debate Tournament held March 1 in Sharjah. Samarth was named Best Speaker for the Motion, winning the top rank and trophy. UOWD was narrowly edged out for Best Overall Team by MAHE-Manipal. The team was coached by UOWD faculty members Melissa Bos and Swapna Koshy.
