UOWD’s brightest students honoured during the Spring Dean’s Merit Award ceremony

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has honoured more than 50 of the University’s brightest students during the Spring 2017 Dean’s Merit Awards held on campus recently. Faculty and professional staff from the University attended the event in recognition of the achievements of students who excelled in their academic endeavours throughout the year. The Dean's Merit Awards are bestowed onto students who have achieve grades in the top 5% in their faculty. In total, 32 students from the Faculty of Business and 19 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences received the awards. Professor Barry O’Mahony, Dean of the Faculty of Business said that UOWD is known as an institution with high expectations and to be able to reach the top 5% among so many high performers, is a great achievement. The awards were presented by Professor O’Mahoney, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, Professor Khaled Hussain.
